“Money talks, wealth whispers.”
Have you noticed that the world’s wealthiest men rarely have skin fades? Look at the “Old Money” icons—JFK, Pierce Brosnan, the characters in *Succession*. You never see their scalp.
The era of the aggressive, high-contrast “Boy Fade” is fading. 2026 is about the Gentleman’s Scissor Cut. It is softer, fuller, and signals a different kind of status.
The Difference: Clipper vs. Scissor
Why does a scissor cut cost more than a clipper cut? Because it’s architecture, not just mowing.
Exposes the scalp.
Creates sharp, aggressive lines.
Grows out awkwardly in 2 weeks.
Vibe: Street, Sporty, Sharp.
Hugs the head shape.
Creates soft, flowing silhouette.
Grows out beautifully for 6 weeks.
Vibe: Executive, Timeless, Expensive.
The “Old Money” Anatomy
If you want to transition to this aesthetic, you need to ask for these three specific elements.
Instead of shaving above the ear, we scissor-cut the hair to gently tuck behind or brush the top of the ear. It looks casual yet groomed.
No hard lines shaved into the scalp. The parting should look natural, created by the flow of the hair and a little texture powder.
Greasy gel is out. “Old Money” hair looks clean. We use Matte Pomades or Styling Creams that give control without the “wet” look.
Is This Cut For You?
This look requires more hair. If you have thinning hair on the sides, this is difficult. But if you have the density, it is the ultimate upgrade.
The Good News: Scissor cuts grow out better. You can go 5-6 weeks between cuts instead of the 2-week schedule of a skin fade.
The Bad News: You *must* style it. You cannot just wake up and go. You will need a blow dryer and a round brush to get that “swoop” at the front.
